A bunch of stuff happened at the VGA awards. For starters Red Dead Redemption got the Game of the Year award. Congratulations Rockstar Games.
Besides that, as usual, a number of new projects were announced. Here are our top 3 new announcements and the trailers that go with them.
Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
The fifth Elder Scrolls game from Bethesda Game Studios will surprisingly be a true sequel to their best selling Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. It will have a brand new engine and a lot of dragons in it. We assume it will be a a multi platform release, but there is always the possibility of someone securing a timed exclusivity deal. Bethesda will also use a new engine for this game. We just hope that this time they make a game which is playable without someone modding it. We will see on 11th of November, 2011.
Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception
“All men dream, but not equally…” The first in engine trailer of Uncharted 3 is nothing short of breath taking, possibly an accomplishment other developers can only dream of, but only Naughty Dog can deliver. Drake’s next adventure will uncover the secrets of the city of Iram, the Atlantis of Sands. This PS3 exclusive will again teach people how to tell stories within a great game and how to do amazing sand effects. First day of next November is the release date.
Mass Effect 3
No surprise here. We all knew that Bioware was going to release a third Mass Effect game before the end of this generation. And here it is… Most probably a multi platform release, this game will possibly finish Shepard’s story. This time the fight is taking place on Earth. This mixture of sci fi shooter and rpg will be released at the end of 2011.
