Hello World… again.

It’s been a while since I’ve had a proper online presence, but that changes now. Welcome to my new digital home, Press Fire to Start, a space where I’ll share thoughts, recommendations, announcements, and insights on the things that make me tick.

As someone who’s spent years designing games, shaping narratives, running live operations, teaching game design, and obsessing over storytelling, I’ve realized it’s time to bring that energy into a more personal, public space. Think of this blog as a mixtape of passions: game design and narrative systems and all that sure. But also comics, literature, cinema, academia, and of course, the glorious and majestic world of heavy metal.

There’s a twist though…
This won’t be a place for rants or complaints. There’s enough of that out there. I won’t be feeding the algorithm with negativity. Instead, this blog is about what excites me.

What works.

What inspires.

What deserves to be shared.

Whether it’s a great narrative twist in a game, a perfect riff in a power metal track, or a lesser-known graphic novel that blows me away, I want to talk about things that spark joy and curiosity.

Expect posts that dive into the craft of storytelling, celebrate brilliant design choices, explore culture from an interactive lens, and maybe even dig into the philosophical. There will be announcements too, of projects I’m part of, talks I’ll be giving, or collaborations in the works. Everything posted here will also echo through my social channels, for those who prefer scrolling to browsing.

So if you’re into games, great stories, guitars, gods, ghosts, gameplay loops, and the gentle poetry of design, you’re in the right place.

The button is pressed. The screen fades in.

Let’s begin.
